A Message from the Principal
Dear Sunrise Drive Families,
As of this morning, 222 students out of 580 are registered for the
2017-2018 school year. We are asking families to register the remaining
students we expect at Sunrise Drive for next school year as soon as possible. Each
year the number of teachers assigned to Sunrise Drive is determined by the
number of students registered at each grade level. This includes the assignment
of classroom teachers as well as teachers who teach Robotics, Art, Music, PE, and
World Languages. It is important to have accurate information early in the year
so that the lowest student-to-teacher ratio is identified.
The online registration process is more efficient than in the past and
can be completed by accessing this link: http://www.cfsd16.org/index.php/parents/register-for-school. If you need assistance, please contact our
office staff at 209-7901. A special thank
you is extended to those families who have completed or will complete the
process over the next few days. We appreciate your efforts!
Standardized tests will be administered beginning in March. The testing
window for AzMERIT extends through May, however, we plan to complete the
assessment in April. The dates for each assessment and grade level are listed

Online
registration for residents is being processed for the 2017-2018 school year.
Registration for Kindergarten Plus is being accepted at the Sunrise Drive
Office. Please complete the registration process as this determines the number
of teachers assigned to Sunrise.
Ultimately this impacts our teacher to student ratio. Brenda Rivera
Lopez is available to answer questions at 209-7900. We thank each family who
has completed the process.
Open
enrollment applications submitted by January 31 will be reviewed for acceptance
with notification at the beginning of March. Once a student is accepted through
the open enrollment process, a parent may move forward to register the child
online.
