Celebration of Great Teachers Invitation

A Message from the Principal

Dear Sunrise Drive Families,

As of this morning, 222 students out of 580 are registered for the 2017-2018 school year. We are asking families to register the remaining students we expect at Sunrise Drive for next school year as soon as possible. Each year the number of teachers assigned to Sunrise Drive is determined by the number of students registered at each grade level. This includes the assignment of classroom teachers as well as teachers who teach Robotics, Art, Music, PE, and World Languages. It is important to have accurate information early in the year so that the lowest student-to-teacher ratio is identified.

The online registration process is more efficient than in the past and can be completed by accessing this link: http://www.cfsd16.org/index.php/parents/register-for-school.  If you need assistance, please contact our office staff at 209-7901.  A special thank you is extended to those families who have completed or will complete the process over the next few days. We appreciate your efforts!

You are invited to join us for a fun Rodeo Lunch, and dancing led by Ms. Dover on Wednesday, February 22nd. Students may bring or purchase their lunch. The purchased lunch menu will be turkey or veggie dog, carrots, watermelon, chips and milk. The cost for students is $3.00 and $3.25 for adults, (Water will be available for an additional $0.75). Adults wishing to purchase lunch will do so at the front gate prior to entering campus. Exact change is appreciated and will help to expedite the process. A Message from the Principal

Dear Sunrise Drive Families,

We invite you to participate in our traditional Rodeo Lunch on Wednesday, February 22.  Our students love to share lunch with our families at this special event.  Students will celebrate with dances learned in PE. The menu will be turkey or veggie dog, carrots, watermelon, chips and milk/water. The cost for students is $3.00 and $3.25 for adults.  Please plan to attend our event and eat lunch with your child at the times listed below:

o   Kindergarten 11:30-12:00
o   First Grade 11:40-12:00
o   Second Grade 11:20-11:40
o   Third Grade 12:00-12:20
o   Fourth Grade 12:20-12:40
o   Fifth Grade 12:10-12:30

Online registration for residents is being processed for the 2017-2018 school year. Registration for Kindergarten Plus is being accepted at the Sunrise Drive Office. Please complete the registration process as this determines the number of teachers assigned to Sunrise.  Ultimately this impacts our teacher to student ratio. Brenda Rivera Lopez is available to answer questions at 209-7900. We thank each family who has completed the process.

Open enrollment applications submitted by January 31 will be reviewed for acceptance with notification at the beginning of March. Once a student is accepted through the open enrollment process, a parent may move forward to register the child online.

We look forward to seeing you on campus at an upcoming event:

Spring Chinese Festival, Friday, February 10 from 5:00-7:30
Rodeo Lunch on Wednesday, February 22 from 11:20-1:00
FFO General Meeting on Friday, February 17 at 8:05

Sincerely,
Andrea Davidson
